Short Story I


They walked and they talked some more. It seemed like they were apart for 10 years - it was only for 10 days.

She said, "I wanna try something".

Before he knew it, she was already on her feet, a camera on one hand, a book on the other. She took one, two, three steps away from where they sat. She glanced back. Four steps more, she turned, smiled at him and started setting up her camera.

She set off the timer and, in one jump, she was back on his side - the place, he thought, she should never have left.

- Kiss me - she said as it was the most natural thing to ask.

- Wha...?

- Kiss... me - she slowly repeated, making sure he was watching every letter come out of her beautiful redish lips.

- But we said, you said... - he was confused.She clearly was not.

- There's no time for 'buts', the clock is ticking. Kiss me!

And still nothing. Nothing but silence. Nothing but eyes metting.The camera was about to go off. She realized he was worth one last try.

- Tic tac, tic tac, tic...
